If you look on the website for the National Strategies
for so long the under-pinning of large parts of the curriculum in UK schools, you no longer find them - instead there are links to where they are archived - albeit in a state which makes it difficult to follow any links, or to use them effectively.
These aren't just bits of political flim flammery that have been moved on the website - these are the details of how the nation teaches it's children the basics of literacy and numeracy.
We've had a new Government now for the best part of a year and a half. Surely it's time something were put up there in it's place.
The statement ends with these sentences :
"The National Strategies website with its rich content and community functions was developed as part of the National Strategies contract. That contract ended on 31 March 2011. The Department for Education is unable to maintain the level of technical and educational resources required to support its live operation beyond this time. "
Doesn't it just say it all ?
