BBC reporting of Academies bill - help needed

Trevor Fisher's picture
There have been real concerns over BBC reporting of schools for many years, notably the BBC 4 Grammar school programme. However the Victoria Derbyshire programme on June 3rd raised very serious issues about the editorial approach including the use of headlines. The headline on screen was FAILING SCHOOLS which accepted the Tory view of the Bill. However, without a hard copy the BBC cannot be approached to raise the issues.

I would be grateful if someone could record it on a cd or dvd for permanent reference. It is still on the BBC iplayer - but this is useless as a record as it goes off after a few weeks. I don't have the technology to do the recording . If it could be recorded and sent to me, I will pay any reasonable cost.

Please help out and notify us when you have the material.

Trevor Fisher.

Hi Trevor,

I had a quick look on iPlayer, but I could not find the offending caption.

Can you not just take a screen-shot of the image? That is easy on a computer with a keyboard that has a "Print Scrn" button. If you press that button a copy of whatever is on your screen goes to your clipboard, and you can then paste it into any programme or app that can open images.

If you want to record a section of the programme then there a lot of free apps available that you can use to record whatever is showing on your screen.

I'm still posting under the title 'Guest' and thus run the risk of not being believed, not taken seriously or even scorned by some but the repeats of the series on, The Grammar School: A Secret History starts on BBC4 tonight at 2100:

Despite being repeats only after each episode is aired will access be given to them via iplayer.
