A couple of years ago, Tudor Grange, an outstanding secondary school in Solihull, West Midlands, converted to an Academy. At the time they did say on 3 occasions they would not change the admissions policy. However, in January 2013, they decided to go back on this and are proposing changes to their admissions policy in favour of 2 CofE schools (Tudor Grange is not a faith school) over-and-above those children in the local catchment area.
This has angered the local community, who are fighting the proposal.
An iPetition has been created and over 800 signatures and also a Facebook page of 300 plus members has been set up to discuss steps to prevent this been implemented.
This short YouTube video will give you a good overview of the situation.
