Read this piece on David Cameron's speech at the Tory Party Conference by anonymous blogger Teacher Talks. Sets out very clearly why the local school, not the free school, should be at the heart of any 'Big Society'. Why can't we have politicians to are proud to say 'That neighbourhood school down the road from you - go and support it'? We will be taking that message to the new Shadow Education Secretary Andy Burnham, who spoke proudly of his own education in a community comprehensive school, and his loathing for selection, during the Labour Party Leadership hustings.
