Some students arrive here believing they are stupid and then leave to go on to university

I am really happy to support you. I work in the Grange School, in Aylesbury. It is an Upper secondary school with an enrolment of approx.1250 students. 29% of our school are ethnic minority students. There are around 39 languages spoken in the school and the children are from around 30 countries. We take everyone and we do our very best with every child who comes to our school. As one consequence, there have been some amazing success stories. Sadly these never make the news because schools are only judged on their grades. I stay in the school because some students arrive here believing they are stupid and then leave to go on to university.

Governments remain impotent if they hand choice to those who already have it. There needs to be choice for those for whom it has always been out of their reach.
