Collaborative scheme of working has so many advantages for the kids and the borough

I'm chair of governors at Little Ilford School in Newham. It's my local school and round the corner from where I live in Manor Park. Both my sons went there. Back in the Nineties it was officially classed by Ofsted as Failing, but thanks to some exceptional staff, a brilliant head and a group of determined local governors with constructive support from the local authority we turned it round and now it is classed as Outstanding.

We were due to be rebuilt entirely under BSF - in fact I was due to approve the planning application last Monday - but our project is one of the hundreds stopped by the Government.

We believe in the collaborative scheme of working between schools that has been fostered in Newham over the years that has so many advantages for the kids and the entire borough.
