It makes fascinating reading - indicating the declining benefit of schools becoming academies and the increasing dissatisfaction amongst Conservatives with the academies project.
The point raised by Conservative KCC leader Paul Carter that the Academies programme might well be a threat to the continued existence of Grammar Schools has more than a touch of irony about it !
Many Tory councils are now beginning to have qualms about academy conversion citing such things as the difficulty of strategic planning, problems caused by being in a state of flux, impact on local authority services, reduced funding and lack of control over admissions.
