Please count me as a foot soldier in your fight for our schools. I do not recognise the view that private education is aspirational, preferring my children to have both the education and the ability to function within their community throughout their lives.

My children are at Oxford Gardens Primary School, the local school which David Cameron chose not to send his daughter to for fear she 'got lost'. He had never set foot over the threshold of the school.  It was somewhat insulting to our wonderful Headteacher and school to be publicly criticised in the press when the school, despite its size, is exceptional at helping children to settle in and navigate the initial complexities of school life.  Fortunately for our local community, he chose to drive his children several miles away to attend the highly selective predominately white and wealthy church school in Kensington.

My message to the government would be "Please stop playing with my children's future / please leave our children alone!"

Thank you for offering to lead the way - the power of our utter disbelief should be rallied efficiently before our schools are physically condemned rather than just slandered.
