Having worked in partnership with 13 different local education authorities in my role promoting higher education to under-represented groups I can honestly say that such work would be severely impaired without local authority coordination. A dog eat dog approach to education helps no-one in the long term and risks failing tens of thousands of UK students. Education is not a marketable commodity.
